High Cs in Digby
MESSAGE FROM OUR ORGANIZING COMMITTEE - 2022-04-20
High Cs has once again been delayed for a number of reasons, the first being Covid's lack
of predictability. Planning would have to have started last July/August for this coming May.
The second reason is that Podium is this year again, held in Toronto which is close enough
for a lot of conductors and other keeners to attend. The third reason looms large in terms
of all future High Cs: St. Bernard's has been deconsecrated and needs many repairs just for
safety. There's a society trying to preserve the building, but it wouldn't be ready as a concert
space this Spring. The fourth reason is weak enough to perhaps be not applicable: The Pines
has increased prices, but, more importantly, expects us to guarantee the reserved rooms.
Suggestions for future years would be welcomed and considered. Meanwhile, we still harbour hopes of
holding HighCs in May of 2023!

Conductors’ Appreciation Night Banquet
Conductors always tell you - “You can do it”. This is their ‘DO’ - the opportunity for the choir to say ‘Thank You’ to their dedicated leaders. We now know that, given a chance to toast/roast their conductors, choirs demonstrate the originality and enthusiasm that has proven to be a wonderful, heartwarming happening.
Once again we will enjoy the cuisine provided by Chef Dale enhanced with quiet background music and culminate in a bit of fun and laughter.
